I have known Ermis Theodorakis for more than 4 years, first of all as a pianist with revolutionary performances, not only in the field of contemporary music. I mean the fact that he can play (from memory!) pieces that the best European pianists refuse, because they seem to be too difficult. I am thinking above all about 'Doubles' of the American composer Frank Cox, a work for piano and live-electronic, whose Premiere was performed by Theodorakis in November 2004 in Bludenz (Austria). By interpreting this kind of works, Theodorakis proves that he is definitely capable of thinking stucturally, which points at his second talent: composing.
Theodorakis possesses - also in the composition field - a complex thinking, fine feeling for the tonal values and esthetic questions (Leipzig, 25/03/2006).
